What is the FTF Academy?
The ‘Full Time Football’ Academy is a two-year, full-time education and football development programme run in partnership with semi-professional club Spelthorne Sports FC. Open to aspiring footballers aged 16 to 19, the academy provides an exciting opportunity to develop both on and off the pitch in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Why this academy wants you
Our programme offers young players the opportunity to receive up to eight hours of high-quality coaching each week from UEFA-qualified coaches, while also competing in a range of prestigious fixtures. Alongside their football development, players are fully supported in their academic studies, ensuring a well-rounded and balanced experience.
Spelthorne Sports FC teams proudly compete in the esteemed FA Youth Cup, Bostik Youth League, College League, Surrey League, and several other competitive platforms - providing players with the exposure and experience needed to reach their full potential.
WHERE DO WE TRAIN?
The Academy will train and play college fixtures at the impressive, state-of-the-art facilities of Grasshoppers RFC in West London. With access to two top-quality grass pitches and a full-size 3G pitch, players will enjoy a professional training environment designed to maximise development.
Conveniently located just off Junction 2 of the M4 and a short drive from Junction 15 of the M25, the venue is easily accessible from across London and surrounding areas. We're just 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport, 30 minutes from Central London, and within easy reach of popular towns such as Richmond, Twickenham, and Windsor - making it an ideal hub for aspiring footballers.

Over the two-year programme, we place equal importance on academic success and football development. Players will have the opportunity to study a range of courses tailored to their individual goals and needs, including ESOL, BTEC qualifications, construction, language courses, and GCSE retakes.
Our dedicated education team works closely with each student to provide personalised support, helping them build confidence in the classroom while reaching their full potential on the pitch. At the heart of our academy is a genuine commitment to developing well-rounded individuals, prepared for both sporting and academic success.
